AFRICHILD HOME

The AfriChild Centre together with the Lango Child and Community Development Federation (LACCODEF) have been implementing a one year pilot project aimed at enhancing positive parenting practices in Lira district. The project was birthed out of a research conducted by the AfriChild Centre in 2015 to identify community perceptions of protective and harmful parenting practices. The following documentary highlights key behavioral change outcomes and success stories of communities in Barr Sub County where it has been implemented.

Violence against Children (VAC) is prevalent in Uganda. During 2015, AfriChild sought to to create a platform for children to be heard, through participatory peer research that generates evidence on physical, emotional and sexual abuse inflicted on vulnerable street connected children. Here, VAC is depicted best as children narrate their their lived experiences.
