Noah Robert Nyende

Noah Robert Nyende, MSc, is a Research Coordinator at the AfriChild Centre.  He is a Population Scientist with 18 years of population health research and project management. He successfully coordinated the 2015 Uganda National Violence Against Children Survey (VACS) managing a team 156 researchers that collected nationally representative data in 112 districts in Uganda. He has designed, implemented, managed and analyzed quantitative and qualitative data on more than 10 research projects on various topics including HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care; malaria vaccine development; infectious and non-infectious disease burden. He also led efforts in investigating health service utilization for maternal and child health among hard-to-reach communities and among the police force and prisons service across Uganda.

Mr. Nyende previously worked with the Makerere University School of Public Health, the Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS), the Research Triangle Institute (RTI) and the Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP). He has extensive community-based research experience in coordinating community trials and longitudinal studies. Mr. Nyende holds a Masters’ degree in Population and Reproductive Health and Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University. He has also attained extensive training in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA
